Maddie is our current Jazz instructor! However, she also has experience in lyrical, hip-hop, and tumbling classes. She has been dancing for 19 years and teaching for 7. She has also danced competitively for 11 years and has traveled across the country to pursue dance.
Early on, she trained at her local studio in traditional dance styles such as tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. At age 13, she auditioned to train for Steps on Broadway, and Alvin Ailey pre-professional programs in NYC which consisted of ballet, jazz, and contemporary. After completing these programs, she continued training locally. By age 17, she homeschooled her senior year of high school in order to live in Los Angeles, California to train at Millenium Dance Complex. Upon graduating, she attended Hofstra University where she danced for their national winning D1 dance team. Currently, she has put much of her competitive dancing on hold to pursue her passion for the medical field. When she’s not dancing, she’s in school obtaining a degree in Surgical Technology.
Dancing has also led her to find a passion for fitness. Once she realized she wouldn't be dancing as much, she fell in love with weight lifting and new forms of movement such as yoga, running, and hiking! One of her favorite things about Studio Jacked is the life-long friends she has made. There's nothing better than bonding with those who share the same passion as you! Now that she’s on the other side and a teacher, her favorite thing about being at the studio is watching the dancers become more confident and absolutely crush any choreography she throws at them. Her students truly bring a smile to her face, and remind her what dance is all about: having fun!!
Lara began dancing when she was 8 years old after her neighbor offered her dance lessons for finding their dog after it ran away. Shortly after she auditioned for School of American Ballet and was accepted on full scholarship for 6 years where she had the opportunity to perform various children roles with the NYCB, including the Nutcracker in Lincoln center and various ballets over the summers in Saratoga springs. When she was 10 she was cast as a dancer in the movie Uptown Girls (such a cool experience!) She then attended Ballet Academy East on full scholarship for 4 years and spent the summers at NYSSA and CPYB.
After she graduated from HighSchool she took time off from dance to get her Associates in Arts. When she was 21 she began teaching ballet, lyrical, and pointe. Over the past years she branched out and started doing choreography for her local high school musicals and in 2022 she was certified to be a personal trainer through NASM which has rounded out her passion to help people through different facets of movement.
For the past 9 years she has come to find her own style of teaching which focuses on a healthy balance between educating, encouraging, and caring for each person in a way that will benefit them most. She believes in meeting people where they are and providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to help them reach their potential.
Having only being exposed to dance through sheer luck and having to work hard to prove her worth in order to receive the necessary financial aid to follow her passion, Lara learned what it means to give her absolute best and to never take anything for granted. The life skills that she has been blessed with from dance are what makes her the person she is and she is passionate about sharing everything she has learned with others. Nothing brings her more joy than teaching and learning every time she steps into the studio.
Alexa Lindberg is a dancer/choreographer based in New York City. After graduating with a double BFA in Dance and Acting from SUNY Fredonia, she decided to take her passion for movement to New York City. By fusing her acting and dance training, she has found an immense love for teaching and creating with children in a fun and expressive way. She has spent the last 10 years teaching ages 2-18 at multiple dance studios. Her latest endeavor led her to be the lead dance instructor at DMF Youth, a program that serves the homeless and under served in New York City through dance and social emotional learning.
Alexa has also recently created her very own adult dance company entitled Rubix Dance Collective. The goal of the collective is to bring dance back to its child-like form of play and to have an energized and therapeutic space to move. While she is not teaching, she is performing live music with her rock band as the lead singer. With three albums already out, her most recent accomplishment is booking a movie, in which one of her songs will be featured later in 2021. This will be her 7th year with Studio Jacked and she is so excited and extremely grateful to continue to teach her love for movement to this incredible community.
Arianna graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2019 with a double major in Biology and Dance Performance. During the day, she works as a scientist at Pfizer, but her real passion lies with dance. Her favorite genre is Ballet, followed by Modern, but she has experience in Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Pointe as well. She absolutely loves to teach, which is something she learned in the months after graduating college - and she also loves to take classes herself! She lives in Nyack with her boyfriend, Viktor, and her cat, Mila, who she will show you a million pictures of if you ask. Chat with her about anything - she loves to learn new things about people and loves doing icebreakers!
